Retire Slider Privacy Policy

This policy covers Retire Slider — both the website (retire-slider.yellowsunsystems.com) and the Retire Slider iOS app — published by Yellow Sun Systems LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). Retire Slider has materially different privacy properties from our account-based services because it runs entirely on your own device and has no back end. 1. Summary

We collect nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no email address, no name.
The figures you enter — ages, balances, salaries, Social Security amounts, state of residence — are used only by code running on your device and are never transmitted to us or anyone else.
No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no third-party scripts.
Your inputs are saved on your device only, and you can clear them or switch saving off entirely from inside the app.
The website's access logging is switched off; the iOS app makes no network request at all.

2. What we collect

No personal information. We operate no database, no user accounts, and no back end that receives your figures. We do not know who you are, we cannot see what you entered, and we could not produce your data if asked, because we never held it.

3. Where your figures go

Nowhere. Every calculation — the Monte Carlo cross-check, the federal and state tax engine, the Medicare and RMD estimates, and the PDF report — runs on your device, in the web page or in the app.

This is enforced rather than merely promised:

Website. The page's content security policy sets connect-src 'none', so the browser itself blocks outgoing connections.
iOS app. The app makes no network request of any kind. The web view refuses every URL scheme but its own bundled one, and no App Transport Security exception is declared (NSAllowsArbitraryLoads is false). Links you tap deliberately — such as the link to this policy — are the only exception, and they open in your browser rather than sending anything from the app.

4. What is stored on your device

Your inputs are saved in your browser's localStorage, or in the iOS app's own private storage, so they are still there next time you open Retire Slider. They stay on your device until you remove them. This storage is not synced to us and we cannot read it. You are in control of it:

Clear saved data in the menu deletes the saved profile immediately. Worth using on a shared or public computer.
Don't save on this device switches saving off entirely, so nothing is written at all.
Deleting the app, or clearing site data in your browser, removes it as well.

5. Shared-device warning

Because your saved profile is stored unencrypted in your browser's local storage, anyone with access to the same browser profile on the same device — or a malicious browser extension with storage-read permissions — could read it. If you are using the Retire Slider website on a shared, borrowed, or public computer, use Clear saved data before you leave, tick Don't save on this device at the start, or use your browser's private / incognito mode for the session.

6. No third parties

No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Segment, no Mixpanel, no first-party analytics endpoint.
No advertising. No ad networks, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels.
No crash or error reporting. No Crashlytics, no Sentry, no third-party diagnostics SDK.
No fingerprinting. Retire Slider does not read canvas, WebGL, audio-context, or other fingerprinting surfaces to identify you.
No third-party scripts, fonts, or CDNs. The libraries Retire Slider uses (Chart.js, jsPDF, and Tailwind CSS) are served from Retire Slider's own origin, or bundled inside the app, so no outside party learns that you visited.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not have any. Nothing you do here is used to build a profile of you or to train any model.

7. Files you export

PDF Report and Export inputs (JSON) write your complete financial profile to a file. Nothing is uploaded — on the web the file is generated in your browser and saved by your browser; in the app it is handed to the standard iOS share sheet, where you choose the destination. But once that file exists it is only as private as wherever you put it. Take care before emailing it, printing it, or saving it to shared cloud storage.

8. Shareable links

Copy shareable link encodes the scenario in the URL fragment — the part after the #. Browsers never send the fragment to a server, so the scenario is not transmitted to us or logged by our host when the recipient opens the link. It does, however, travel inside the link text itself: anyone who receives the link, and anything that stores it along the way (a chat log, an email archive, a bookmark sync), holds those figures. Treat a shareable link as being as sensitive as the numbers in it.

9. Hosting and network-level logs

The iOS app contacts no server at all, so this section applies only to the website. The web server that delivers the page has access logging switched off, so it does not write a record of requests. It never receives your inputs, because they are never sent. The site is hosted on Fly.io, whose edge infrastructure may briefly retain connection logs including your client IP address for reliability and abuse prevention under its own policies and control. Those logs concern network traffic, not anything you typed. Retire Slider does not read, persist, correlate, or export them.

10. Your rights

California residents (CCPA / CPRA). Yellow Sun Systems LLC does not sell or share personal information for purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Because we never receive anything you enter into Retire Slider, the CCPA rights to know, access, port, correct, and delete are exercised through the on-device controls described in Section 4. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information for our site-wide statement.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR). Yellow Sun Systems LLC operates the Retire Slider marketing page, the Retire Slider website, and the iOS app. Because Retire Slider does not receive your figures or any personal identifier, we are not a controller for the data you enter — that data never leaves your device. You retain the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (GDPR Arts. 15–21), and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (GDPR Art. 77); in practice, for Retire Slider, the effective way to exercise these rights is through the on-device controls in Section 4. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will confirm what we know.

11. Age requirement

Retire Slider is a retirement planning tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — or, as set out above, from anyone. Because Retire Slider collects no personal information, we cannot verify age; the requirement is a condition of use, not a technical control.

12. Educational-illustration disclaimer

Retire Slider is an educational illustration only — not investment, tax, legal, accounting, or estate-planning advice. The risk-of-ruin figure is a modeled estimate under the assumptions you supply; real outcomes will differ. Tax tables, brackets, and state rules reflect our best understanding as of the build date and may not be current for your planning or filing year. No professional client relationship is created by using Retire Slider. Consult a licensed professional (such as a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Public Accountant, or attorney) before acting on anything Retire Slider displays.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a future version of Retire Slider ever collects or transmits anything, that would be a material change: we would say so here plainly and describe exactly what and why, rather than broadening this policy quietly to permit it. Because Retire Slider has no account and no notification channel, we recommend checking this page occasionally if the device-only operating model is material to your use.
